Maureen Whitman

Maureen (or 'Dynamo Mo' as she is known) is an inspiration to generations of local people with her dedication and commitment to sporting activity. She has run the London Marathon as a senior citizen 4 times now in celebration of each of her 4 grandchildren. As one of the oldest member of Preston Harriers Athletics Club and 'Ozonefit Military Style Fitness' since its inception in 2009, Maureen befriends and inspires everyone around her with her infectious enthusiasm for activity in the great outdoors. Her tenacity shines with every step towards her goals - she may not be the fastest competitor in a race but she'll get there for sure! She worked for over 30 years as a Social Worker with children in Preston's Harris Orphanage and across Lancashire with elderly people. A well-loved member of our local community and very worthy individual, this would be a dream come true!
