Matt Sandbach

I would like to nominate my brother who is an Apache pilot in the Army Air core. He has been in the army for 6 years and has served in Afghanistan three times and is fighting at the moment in Libya. He was only supposed to be away for six weeks of training, but it turned into another 6 month tour. During this time he missed both his 30th birthday and his first wedding anniversary. My brother is married to a lovely lady who has relied on my brother's support over the last few years as her mother tragically died and then soon after that her father was diagnosed with Parkinson's. My brother has, although he has been away fighting for his country, been an absolute rock for my sister in law. I hope that my brother will be considered as I feel he has already done his country proud through his dedication and commitment to his job. The job that my brother has been doing in Libya is both extremely dangerous and tiring I believe he needs recognition for this and he is indeed a hero to me.
