Matt is head of sixth form and sports teacher at local comprehensive school. Everyone loves 'Mr Fletcher' - young and old as he has taught quite a lot of the people in the area. In Autumn 2011, Matt will donate a kidney to Hope, one of his ten year old twin daughters. This will be her second transplant. Amidst all , the whole family, Beth, Matts wife and Eve, Hopes twin sister, organise events from bike rides to dances to raise money for GOSH renal unit, in the name of 'Always Hope'. Hope herself managed 8 miles at a recent bike ride. They are an amazing family - always smiling and cheering, givin go fthemselves to help others and totally unselfish. To see Matt and Hope, carry the torch would represent the true spirit of the Olympics.
