Matthew Butler from Warrington had been unemployed for 2 years and was referred by Job Centre Plus to the pre-employment volunteer programme linked to 2012, Personal Best at Warrington Wolves. This is a North West Inspire Project. Whilst on this programme, Matt was inspired to take up volunteering, initially volunteering for 30 hours for the Riding for the Disabled Association. During a teaching observation of interview technique, Matt's talent for interviewing was spotted by Sport 4 Life staff and he was recoomended to LOCOG as a SEV (Selection Event Volunteer). Supported with travel costs by Sport 4 Life, Matt was able to boost his employability and confidence interviewing potential Games Makers. Matt clocked up an incredible 10 SEV shifts, (61 hours of volunteering) at Salford Quays, eventually offering to take the lead with some of the SEV's and support LOCOG staff. Matt earned himself the title, 'SuperSEV'. Matt's volunteer log, signed by LOCOG staff says, 'Matt was brilliant!'
