Matt's nomination story

Matthew developed Selective Mutism at an early age. This debilitating condition was not recognised at the time. During his time at school he had very few friends but through sport found his voice. After school he went onto University and graduated in Sports Science and eventually won the battle against his Selective Mutism. Following a spell in America working at summer and football camps he came home and has set up his own business as a PT and running camps for children in the school holidays giving them the opportunity to develop social and personal skills and confidence through sport no matter what level they achieve and as a bonus the children who go to these camps adore him. I am very proud of Matthew for conquering this condition and for using his experiences to help children. At the age of 7 no-one would ever have though that Matthew would be able to do what he has done.
