Mary McCarney has been an inspiration to not only her family but throughout her career as a midwife and her volunteering with the St Vincent De Paul for the last 30 years. Mary is a caring lady and treats every person she comes across with the utmost respect, never judges anyone and most of all as an individual, not just a number in the system. Mary's charity work involves support work but also raising much needed funds for the St Vincent de Paul when she works in the charity clothing shop. Mary uses her work and life experience to help those who are genuinely in need whether its providing a coat, shoes, medical assistance or even just a should to cry on. Mary doesn't look for rewards but only satisfaction that she has assisted someone in their hour of need both professionally and voluntarily. There isn't just one inspirational story for Mary but over 30 years' worth, just ask anyone who has had the pleasure to come across her I am just the lucky one who has her as my mother and see it every minute of every day.
