Martin's nomination story

Martin has worked extensively and enthusiastically to raise awareness and money for an Orphan project in Cameroon. The 'Boyo' district of Cameroon is very rural and poor, with a high rate of HIV. Many children are left to the care of their extended families following the deaths of their parents owing to HIV. Martin spent 6 months in Cameroon, working for the Orphan Project and helping these children. He was so moved by his experience there that he continues to support the excellent work of the Project. He is currently training hard for a series of races to raise funds to support the Project. With this money, the Project will be able to provide essential medical care, food supplements and education to children who would otherwise go without and be further trapped within the cycle of poverty and ill health.
