Mark's nomination story

Mark has undertaken six fundraising activities over the last five years, raising over £5750 for three charities that have a special meaning for him. His reasons for raising the money and his commitment to doing it inspired friends and colleagues to join him in the events and helped raise this excellent amount of money. This truly made them go out of their comfort zones but they were inspired by Mark's drive and commitment.

In both 2007 & 2008 London to Windsor bike race raising £1500 for British Heart Foundation, 2009 was the London to Brighton bike race, 2009 organised a Barn Dance raising £1500 for Cancer Research, 2010 London 10k race raised £250 for Alzheimer's Research, 2011 Undertook the 10k cycle element of a Triathlon raising £500 for Save The Children. All the training and events took place in Mark's own time. Mark lost his father to heart disease at a fairly early age and resulted in him wanting to raise money for the British Heart Foundation for research into heart disease. Then, Mark and his wife had a really unfortunate experience during a pregnancy and so Mark wanted to raise money for a children's charity. Mark is driven to giving back to the community. CR
