Mark Strasshine

Mark is passionate about improving the image of young people and working to make improvements for young people in his local area. Last December, at just 12 years old, he became North Tyneside Deputy Young Mayor and a Member of UK Youth Parliament. Mark has been in these roles for 6 months now and has worked with young people across North Tyneside and beyond on issues that concern them, listening and representing their views to adult decision makers. He has given up a lot of his own time and has many stories to tell about the work he has done so far. Mark loves sport - he is a keen sportsman playing football at a county level and a member of his school sports teams including rugby and cricket - Mark would be very proud and honoured to carry the Olympic torch and it would be something that he would always remember.
