Mark is a truly inspirational person and motivates others around him to want to succeed. As a double amputee pursuing a sports based courses he has overcome many challenges and in the face of diversity has become a role model to his peers and tutors. He has been an active member of Truro College Leadership Academy and he has taken numerous opportunities to lead, coordinating and designing programmes of activity for primary, secondary and special schools students. He also an active member of the community becoming the Youth representative for Cyclability in Cornwall and the student representative for the Cornwall Youth Games. Further to this he has assisted in helping to set up the first wheelchair basketball club in Cornwall. He has run and managed a Top Link Sports Festival, Playground to Podium and is now mentoring an 11 year old double amputee teaching how to surf. 'Mark is undoubtedly one of the most enthusiastic committed young men I have ever met! Never does he let you down and always you can rely on him! Many times I have called upon Mark's skills and enthusiasm and every time he hasn't failed to impress, and not only me! Everyone that Mark comes in to contact with is touched and motivated by his presents, he has many admirers and both younger and older people see him as a role model'.
