Mark's nomination story

Mark started to experience health problems in 2008 and was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour. Over the following months various and numerous tests indicated that it was benign. In September 2009 Mark started a 4 week course of daily radiotherapy in London. Rather than incur sick leave or travel daily from Nottingham, Mark volunteered to work in London (Mon-Fri) and undertake project work; treatment at 9:00am and then back to work. Since his diagnosis Mark has not had a single day of sick leave. Mark's performance over the last 2 years has continued to be of the highest order, ensuring that his team is one of the highest performing in the country and also volunteering for projects and lead roles . Mark will always volunteer to assist his colleagues and he has continually remained focussed on giving 100% to the company, an inspirational role model.
