Mark Hatton participated in the 2002 and 2006 Olympic Winter Games in the Luge singles event. From 2002 to 2006 he was the athletes' representative to the International Governing Body for Luge, where he has a reputation for fairness and contributing to the development of the sport. From 2006 to 2010 he was the event manager for the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. During his time as a senior athlete Mark worked with the British Olympic Foundation visiting school to promote the Olympic ideals and to encourage the young to develop the 'Olympic dream' - doing so in that main at London Inner City schools. Mark continues to train and participate as an athlete, albeit no longer at full international level - he is an excellent ambassador for the sport and someone who has, and continues to give back to the sport he loves.
