Philanthropy really is the ability to instill hope into the hopeless - that is NOMINEE'S gift. She does this at every turn along her journey. In her hometown of Delaware she actively volunteers and led her school to spur students to action. NOMINEEcreated Operation HOPE to provide a Kenyan school with uniforms. She generated the plan and involved her school and community in fundraising that raised $7900 for uniforms. NOMINEE also spent three weeks volunteering in a Ghanaian orphanage. As a college freshman, NOMINEE rose to the occasion to help the tornado victims in Alabama in Spring 2011. She created "All in for Alabama," organizing and collecting donations in 6 states. The result was NOMINEE driving a 26' commercial truck full of supplies from Pennsylvania to Alabama. Clearly, NOMINEEis a catalyst to involve others to make a difference both in her town, country and the world.
