Maria Morgan

Maria is a founder member of the Learning Disabled Theatre Company, Movers, as well as an accomplished Special Olympian, having competed in numerous events dating back to 1986. Working alongside Speakeasy Theatre Company, Maria's theatrical experience and infectious enthusiasm have been instrumental in the creation of a professional standard theatre company for Learning Disabled adults in Leicester. The company devise their own work, and have toured to numerous theatres across the Midlands, as well as performing at 2009's Special Olympic opening ceremony. Maria has a strong passion for helping others through her work, and a particular interest in working with disabled and non-disabled children who have an interest in theatre. Maria is an excellent spokesperson for Learning Disabled people, and would be representing all of those she has helped and inspired in carrying the Olympic flame.
