Liz's nomination story

Liz is an incredible lady, much admired by many, although she'd never agree to that statement! Liz has been involved in Scouting for many, many years, and currently leads the 82nd Chapeltown Beavers. She goes out of her way to encourage the kids, include them, help them develop and in particular she gets them outside as often as possible, if they're not in the woods they're canoeing, cycling or building rockets! The effort she puts in is simply incredible. Until very recently, Liz also ran the breakfast and after school club at Coit Primary School. Here too her enthusiasm and dedication was inspirational, she never seemed to tire of finding new things things for the kids to do. She is also a keen runner, having recently completed the Sheffield Half Marathon! What is more incredible is that Liz has continued to do all of these things through her recent breast cancer, which has seen her have surgery and treatment on a clinical trial, something again which is for the greater benefit of others. During this time she refused to take it easy, and she didn't let anyone down. The children didn't miss Beavers, parents never once had to find alternative care after school. Liz truly is an inspiration to me, her attitude, energy and dedication are second to none, she makes me feel like I can, and should, do so much more. I would love to see her have this chance to do something special, and the hundreds of us who think she's amazing would certainly turn out to cheer her on!
