Marcela Vilchis Garza

Marcela is originally from Mexico who came into the UK over 6 years ago. She is a permanent resident living in Northern Ireland. She is a committed wife and mother of two. She is a qualified teacher who works as a behaviour support assistant. While she breastfed her oldest child she began donating breast milk to The Human Milk Bank for sick children, and she is currently doing the same while breastfeeding her younger child. She is committed to our community. She helped to create an international mother and toddlers group (IPOPs), forms part of Coleraine Multicultural Forum. She is the Child Protection Officer for Stepping Stones Crèche committee and a member of Mill strand Integrated Primary School parents' council. Marcela worked as a training and information officer for Latino America Unida (NGO) supporting minorities in Northern Ireland.
