Marcel Jenkins

Marcel is an inspirational and committed community volunteer who gives up his own time to improve a park in London. In addition to working and being a father, he works with a voluntary community group and is both the treasurer and the webmaster. Marcel promotes the increased use, access to and enjoyment of the park by local people and visitors. Along with a small group of others, he organised a local festival last year. His tireless energy and enthusiasm motivates people and it is set to be a great success. Marcel has worked with local partners to maintain existing facilities as well as develop and install new ones. These include improvements to the childrens' playground, tree planting, better seating as well as much more. He inspires people to volunteer in community activities. Because of his commitment and leadership, Marcel makes a real difference to the community group, the borough and members of the local community.
