Manon Steyaert

I continually contribute to the community through supporting individuals and charities such as Teenage Cancer Trust. In the near future I am hoping to raise further money by running half a marathon and donating the money raised to Teenage Cancer Trust. I have chosen this particular charity because I know some people who have experienced cancer and I want to show them that I can help in any way that I can.I also have donated to my friend's charity, which means that I have enabled people to get better from a disease that they were diagnosed with such as my friend, who now stands next to me because of that contribution. I have also sold some rugby bags which represent my school and by doing this I have helped to gain some money for my hockey team to support our tour to Australia. By being able to run with the Olympic flame I would be able to show people that all nationalities can join together and celebrate the Olympics as a community. I would mostly be overjoyed by this opportunity as a person who loves sport; it would be a once in a lifetime opportunity to hold the flame itself and I would be so grateful for this opportunity
