Malcolm Maxted

I nominate Mr. Malcolm Maxted, consultant orthopaedic and trauma surgeon, for his tireless work with St.Margaret's Hospice,Somerset. He was on the committee that raised the money to build Yeovil Hospice, for which he was made a vice president of the Somerset hospice movement. Now retired, he is still very much involved, speaking to groups, collecting donations and supporting events. He has run in the London Marathon for St.Margaret's Hospice. He is a member of the Yeovil town running club and runs with them regularly. Mr.Maxted deserves to carry the Olympic torch as he is a truly fine example of keeping physically fit as well as being so willing to help those less fortunate than himself.
