50 years ago in Rome, my uncle, Giancarlo Peris was the final torch bearer for the Olympics games. Lighting the Olympic flame was one of the proudest days of his life. 50 years later, he would have never imagined that his niece would be living and working in London with an opportunity to follow in his footsteps - to carry the Olympic flame for a new generation of athletes. This is my personal best story. I hope that I can have the honour of being part of the Olympic legacy - passing the torch from generation to generation. Maddalena
