Maca as we call him has become a young man with ambition compared to a 2 years ago when we first had contact with him. Macauley was a 13 year old who was very low on just about every personal emotion that you could have confidence being the most. He was over weight and wasnt managing his diet well at all, he wasnt participating in any sports playing the odd game of casual football but not for long as his confidence was so low. we engaged Macauley onto our programme and made slow progress with him in the first year but at the start of year 10 Macauley came to us and said he wanted to change, Macauley attended 1-2-1 sessions working on his confidence and low self esteem issues and we seen him start to grow as a person. he developed a passion for cooking and now has aspirations to become a chef. He wanted to do something about his weight so we started a keep fit session for him and he attends our weekly boxing sessions. We worked out a diet plan for him. he has worked very hard and now is building on his confidence by attending social events with his peers and he is becoming more like 'One of the Lads ' as opose to sitting on the edge. he has voluteered his time to several local charity events and has a few more dates in the future. Macauley deserves an opportunity like this a part of his personnel development. hes a young person that never causes anyone any problems but is prepared to go out of his way to help other people.
