Lydia's nomination story

Lydia is a particularly inspiring personality. She is an intelligent girl and has established an outstanding rapport with the younger swimmers that she teaches. She has become a role model for a number of them, in particular the younger girls. Not only does Lydia pride herself in helping the younger Club members improve their swimming, but parents also have commented that she has also given a number of their children a real boost in their self-confidence. Lydia is seventeen and has through her own initiative qualified as an ASA Swimming Teacher at Levels 1 and 2, she is also a qualified timekeeper and Level 1 and 2 ASA Judge. Lydia teaches at Ware Swimming Club on Monday, Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons on a voluntary basis and also contributes as a timekeeper or judge at local galas. Lydia also volunteers at her school, teaching swimming, whilst studying for her A-Levels.
