Lucy's nomination story

Lucy has been a member of our Girls' Brigade company for 13 years and is now heading off to university to study to become a Primary Teacher. During her time in GB Lucy has achieved both her Queen's Award and her Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award and has completed the three year GB Leadership Training Programme. She is now working as a leader with the younger girls who look up to her and try to emulate her achievements. As she has moved through the company Lucy has demonstrated excellent leadership skills and has been an inspiration to the younger girls in encouraging them to aim high. She has a lively, caring personality and has always proved to be reliable and trustworthy. She is keen to take on responsibilities and can be relied on to complete any task asked of her to the best of her ability. Lucy was also Head Girl at her secondary school where again she demonstrated a high level of leadership skills and an ability to relate well with people of all ages. Lucy is an excellent role model for younger children and has spent a great deal of time undertaking voluntary work in an childrens after school club where again her skills and qualities have shone out. Lucy has also been involved in club level swimming and is a keen squash player. I have no hesitation in recommending Lucy to you as a young lady who has inspired children to aim high and reach for the stars.
