Louise Oates

I would like to nominate my close friend Louise because life has not been easy for her, from childhood to recent years, during which time she has lost her only sibling suddenly, on his 21st birthday to meningitis, has lost 3 baby girls in the latter stages of pregnancy and has discovered that her longed for and only child has leukaemia. During these times, Louise has been nothing but strong, upbeat and positive. She also continues to give her time to others and has helped raise over £35,000 for the Meningitis Foundation & Children with Leukaemia. She is a true inspiration to others and is my hero. Louise desperately wanted to go to the Olympics, but was unsuccessful, so I wanted to do something that could enable her to share in this once in a lifetime event and give her something back after she has given so much of herself to others.
