Louise's nomination story

Louise has taken the lead, and been involved in, many fund-raising activities for a number of different charities. There's two things she's particularly renowned for...one is regularly arranging fantastic and successful cake sales at work, and the other is taking part in a variety of external charity events. These have not only promoted the charity's work but raised morale at work.

Lou is the Queen of the Cup Cake! For each sale, Lou has been know to be up all night baking and decorating the most amazing sets of cup-cakes to match whatever theme the sale is taking...These have become famous in their own right, and pull in the crowds - but she does much besides. She initiates the sale, engages others to support the event by providing cakes or turning up to purchase, and she spends much of her own time and money preparing fantastic eye-catching displays to ensure maximum impact, to snag unsuspecting passers-by! On the Sporting/Charity front, Lou has participated in two Race for Lifes, the Midnight Walk for the Sue Ryder Hospice, a walk for Pied Piper Appeal (fundraising for a local hospitals children's unit) and acts as volunteer to prepare charity walk routes, eg for the local Memory Walk for the Alzheimer's Society. She also spent hours of her own time preparing beautiful hampers for a colleague raffle for the Royal Wedding, to raise money for Save The Children.

Lou is inspirational!!!
