Lloyds TSB, proud Presenting Partner of the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay, has selected pupils from Perth Academy to be Olympic Torchbearers as part of National School Sport Week. . . Perth Academy have always been extremely supportive of taking part in all national initiatives and opportunities and have driven a lot of work out with these opportunities to ensure that they promote sport and physical activities to all their pupils. The school has a long history in providing extra-curricular opportunities, traditionally hockey and rugby, however now their extra-curricular clubs extend to, gymnastics, badminton, netball, basketball, judo, grappling dance and trampolining. They have built up good contacts with their local clubs and can therefore offer their pupils a pathway to extend their sporting involvement out with school. In terms of teaching staff the whole school encourages a supportive and encouraging ethos to sport and activity, focussing lessons around the core values of friendship, excellence and respect.
