Lloyd's nomination story

Former Blackpool, Watford and Leyton Orient footballer turned fireman, rescued two boys from a house fire in Dagenham, Essex. Lloyd was awarded a commendation for his bravery but had inhaled a lot of toxic smoke and was diagnosed as having chronic myeloid leukaemia. With less than 10% chance of survival he underwent bone marrow transplant but only 3 weeks before he ran the London Marathon determine to prove positive attitude can beat cancer. Lloyd has raise over £5m for charities by: ?Completing the London and New York Marathon wearing a 110-pound deep-sea diving suit ?Walkedto the South Pole ?Rode 2700 miles from Perth to Sydney on a penny farthing dressed as Sherlock Holmes ?Walked from Land's End to John o' Groats with a Tyrannosaurus ?Crawled the London Marathon in 26 days as Brian the Magic Roundabout 9ft snail, 2011 Proud to be British this man should carry our Olympic Flame. Deep-sea diving suit weighed 130 lb, not 110lb.
