Lisa`s daughter Angelina was born with Sturge-Weber syndrome, a rare neurological condition. Since Angelina`s birth, Lisa has worked tirelessly and selflessly to care for her through her therapies and her brain operation as well as keeping family life as normal as possible for the rest of the family. Lisa has raised over £10,000 for research and equipment at the Great Ormond Street Hospital Neuroscience Unit where Angelia had her operation. Lisa now aims to raise the same for the Sturge-Weber Foundation UK, a voluntary support group for families and adults affected by Sturge-Weber syndrome. Lisa's efforts are inspirational, she raises awareness of the rare Sturge-Weber syndrome amongst doctors and in society to greatly benefit families and individuals with the syndrome. I know Lisa would find it a great honour to carry the Olympic Flame and this nomination is a very small thank you to her for all the hard work she has done.
