Lisa's nomination story

Lisa emcompasses all that it means to be the heart of the community. Lisa moved to the Cleethorpes region 5 years ago and has breathed life into local sporting clubs. Lisa is a keen hockey player for Hull Ladies Hockey Club and runs for Cleethorpes Athletic Club having won several awards for the club in just three years of representing them. Lisa has even turned out for her husband's cricket club on several occaisions showing the men that being a woman is not a handicap! Professionally Lisa works as a Trading Standards Officer and is team leader of the only dedicated team in the UK to tackle excessive packaging of consumer goods and thus bringing about hige benefits to the environment. her passion and willingness to go the extra mile has led to her advising Government on waste strategy and sharing her skills and knowledge around teh country with colleagues as well as giving up her time talking to community groups to empower those she speaks to. Lisa ran the London Marathon in April but collapsed at mile 24 in the heat. After 1h 30m in a St Johns Ambulance tent Lisa decided she wasnt defeated, got up and made it accross the winning line totally inspiring our children to turn off the playstation and start running. Lisa is an inspiration to all she meets and nobody deserves to carry the torch more than her.
