The london olympic games has inspired me to challenge myself in ways that I had never thought I would in order to help others. This year I started training and entered myself into a charity cycling event in aid of the BHF charity, a cause close to my heart due to losing a family member to heart disease. After completing this event the sense of achievment I felt was something that I had never experienced before and this has inspired me to enter other events that I would never have dreamed of before. In 2012 I intend to run a half marathon in aid of charity with a view to training and getting myself fit enough to enter the 2013 london marathon again all in aid of raising money for a worthy cause. I'm not a keen runner, but I know what my body is capable of now and I know that I can overcome any challenge both physically and mentally. The pain I may put myself through in training will be nothing compared to the sense of achievement and the help that the money I raise will give to the charities I am fundraising for.
