Lianne Jameson

Lianne began volunteering at West Ham ABC when only 16 years old. Females in boxing were even rarer then than now and a competition secretary was unheard of. Under the guidance of the club's old hands she has emerged into one of the leading figures of London Amateur Boxing. Hon Sec of the club, she has been a driving force of the club for the last 15 years. She has been instrumental in engaging with me in my role of development officer and the club has worked consistently around the borough to profile the sport and develop it within all aspects of the community. Lianne provides the mother figure to all the club members whether they are new to competition and in need of some confidence or experienced boxers competing at the highest level. She looks after everyone, coaches included and steers the ship for the good of the club.
