Lewie's nomination story

Lewie runs the U14s boys' session at Wessex Volleyball Club and the 15-18 beach sessions in the summer. He creates an atmosphere where any performer can come and enjoy volleyball. For example, Lewie enters beginners into fun recreational competitions. He also provides extra beach sessions at Boscombe in the summer so the serious players can come and train - 2 pairs went on to be national champions. He has also been to over 50 schools to teach pupils volleyball, including schools for pupils with disabilities. Lewie is currently a Level 3 coach, one of the youngest people in the country who has reached this standard. He is keen to develop his coaching skills further through attending additional courses, shadowing more experienced coaches (including some international coaches), reading books and internet research. Lewie is a great role model to the young people he coaches and contributes so much to the sport of volleyball.
