Lesley Forrest received a kidney transplant in 1996 and a year later started competing in the British Transplant Games as part of the Scottish team. The games allow attendees to share their experiences and support each other through their upward struggle. It's main aim is to raise awareness of the need for organ donors, with help from its charity TSUK. Lesley as well as winning multiple medals in both British and World Transplant Games has dedicated a lot of time and effort into raising funds and awareness with her committed team mates and close family and friends. Not gone unnoticed, she was honoured with the Edinburgh University's Principles Medal as well as an MBE this past June. This publicity is exactly what the charity needs and gives a lot of competitors and donor families a sense of acknowledgment and purpose. Lesley is beloved by all who know her and will do TSUK proud.
