Leon's nomination story

Leon is a real ambassador for disability sport and in particular football. Having played for the England Cerebral Palsy Football Team since 2003, he had the honour of being Derby's only representative at the Beijing Paralympic Games. Whilt he still polays at the highest level, Leon is committed to sharing his experiences with others whilst seeking to inspire other disabled people to realise their potential. He regularly visits local schools to give talks to children in assemblies. He also attends Playground to Podium and County Athlete Assessment & Development days across the East Midlands. Furthermore, Leon is a Trustee of Derby County's in the Community Programme, where he seeks to promote the expansion of disability football provision across Derby and the wider County. Leon works closely with the local media, namely the Derby Telegraph and Radio Derby, to ensure the continued awareness raising of disability sport.
