Lee's nomination story

Lee has been a massive advocate for charity in the Lloyds Banking Group Newport contact centre and this year is his second marathon for charity. As well as committing to a gruelling training schedule, Lee also ran various events including a Golf Day, Olympic Day, raffles, as well as enduring personal shame in good humour through head shaving, leg waxing and baked bean baths in order to raise money for Save the Children. There is no end to Lee's enthusiasm, passion and commitment to get people involved and to raise as much money as possible for the cause.

Lee is also the coach for Henlly's Under 10's Football Club. He started this several years ago when unable to play football himself any longer, wanted to utilise his skills and knowledge and invest them in youngsters in the local community. He pretty much singlehandedly runs the club and devotes his time, to not only coaching the young people, but running the committee and raising funds. As a small, local team there is no allocated budget for team kit, minibuses, equipment and celebrations such as Christmas parties, so Lee has run various fund raising events such as village fetes and raffles to meet these needs. Lee as well as raising money for these things, I know often spends his own money to buy end of season prizes so the children feel rewarded and appreciated.

Lee's next planned charity goal is the New York Marathon, which knowing Lee will be even bigger and better!
