Larry's nomination story

This is my Grandad - He lived through very hard times during the second world war, losing most of his family and having a very hard start in life. This did not affect his outlook on life - has been an inspiration to me and the rest of my family through many life crisis. He went to night school, while holding down a full time job and bringing up a family when he was younger. Through this ever postive outlook on life - he has inspired me and others who have met him. After his hard start, he could have become bitter and unloving, but he is generous to all who meet him and has no prejudices against anyone. The things he does might seem small to the big scale of life, but little job and help gor people he knows, or he meets, such as cutting there lawns, helping fix a tap are what just come as a natural thing for him to do Despite his age, he is very active - going to the gym everyday to improve his diabetics. Through this, he has often featured in the diabetic campaigns across the region, helping others and talking to other suffers. He will drop anything at a mins notice to help someone. despite been into his 80! Anyone who knows him - would agree with this.
