Lauren's nomination story

Lauren is a young athlete who has had a serious knee injury but overcame this and now back to full health and playing her favorite sport hockey and football and any other sport she can participate in but will never reach her dream becoming an professional athlete because of a weakness. Although she does play for a local team and trains with the county team and has just qualified as an umpire for Hockey. She is a military child whos Father could possibly be serving in afghanistan as a bomb disposal expert when the olympics are on.Thus will endever she maynot be able to go if Dad is serving in Afghanistan. We are awaiting confirmation of this. She also takes care of her Mother who suffers from Epilepsy. All her life she has had to take responsibility for her Mum and the seizures as they have not followed her Father around within his 28 yr military career. she deserves a dream she can keep without the worries of Mum's health and Dad's stressful job and him being away all the time. She is wonderful, happy, caring girl who puts others first, its time to put herself first and have an oppertunity to shine. She does a 40 mile round trip to school daily and never complains. Leaving early and returning late. Thus then having to attend to Mum if she is ill. She was the only child in her last year of primary school to go to Grammar school. She achieves everything all on her own merit because mum cant drive and dad is often unavailable because of his Army commitments.
