My niece Lauren who is 13 years old, is an inspiration to all young people, an aspiring young athlete who has achieved so much. Having developed and overcome asthma at a young age she strives to be and do her best in everything including her love for football and long distance running.
Achieving 1st places for Cross Country for her primary school and in her first year of secondary school, she was recognised by her School for being the first girl in a number of years to participate in the National Schools cross country race and is now achieving wins and recognition with Inverness Harriers, even after collapsing with a kidney infection this year.
She trialled for the Scotland North East Ladies football team and was asked to train with the Inverness Ladies Team recently.
Her love and respect for her family and friends and caring, thoughtful, friendly nature has led her to helping others including her grandmother when she was ill with arthiritis, Fundraising - for a 2 year old local girl who had a rare form of cancer, Comic Relief, Race for Life, and for her older sister to allow her to help children in Sri Lanka and Africa and taking part in the school Backpack Project for schools in Africa.
She is respected by her friends and family for her kindness, supporting others in times of need and for her senseof humour. She always tells her friendsand family that she loves them and has a very special love for animals, especially dogs and is a member of the Dogs Trust.
