Laura Riches

Laura is 17 and has been involved since the age of 5 in a variety of sporting activities. She is very successful in Rugby Union trailing for England U20s and has run for GB U18s in Fell Running. She has also represented England Schools in Cross country . She is a very dedicated athlete who commits fully to her sports. She also gives back 100%. As she is a qualified rugby coach she helps organise tournament and provides coaching in local school and at her Club. She also coaches younger athletes at Leigh Harriers twice a week. Also as a young volunteer in sport she has helped out at numerous event in Wigan. Her dream is to one day compete in the Olympics at Steeplechase but I feel for 2012 she is very deserving to carry the torch for her personal commitment in sport to both herself and others
