Laura's nomination story

Twenty-six-year-old Laura Rennis from Enfield was unemployed for five years before getting help from The Prince's Trust to set up her own business. Laura suffers from Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and was seriously ill in hospital for almost a year at the age of 16. She was paralysed from the neck down and was told she might never be able to work again. Laura's MS decreased and she was able to go home. However, she still suffered regular relapses and found it impossible to hold down a full-time job, especially when her twin girls, now aged 5, were born. Being unemployed made Laura feel depressed and frustrated with her life. She had always dreamed of setting up her own holistic therapy business. With the help of her Prince's Trust mentor, Laura is currently in the process of setting up her own business. She has become a Young Ambassador for The Prince's Trust. Laura is also determined to help other young people and has set up her own youth motivational programme called "Get Motivated - Be Inspired" to encourage young people to achieve their potential. Laura is a confident, inspiring and motivated young woman.
