Carrying the Flame through
Carrying the Flame on
Laura's nomination story

Laura is an exceptional human being, friend and sports woman. She represents England juniors at football as well as being very good at other sports. At school she is the friendly face who everyone can turn to to be cheered up. She always tries her absolute best at everything she does and stands up for what she believes is right and inspires others to do the same. This is in itself enough to get her nominated. In November Laura was involved in a bad car accident and was left temporarily unable to walk and had to have rods and screws put into her leg amongst other injuries. What Laura has done to be so inspirational is that she hasn't let it set her back in the slightest. She still has her incredibly warming personality and smile, and despite missing nearly a month of her a-levels has managed to maintain her academic excellence and is on track for top grades and university this summer. Laura has been inspirational with her road to recovery by always having a smile on her face and cracking jokes no matter how hard she is finding something. She regularly goes to the gym now to build her fitness back and is hoping to kick a football around again in the summer. I know that Laura deserves to carry the flame so that she can have her moment to shine after all the events of the past year, she deserves to have the spotlight on her so everyone can repay all the smiles and cheers and happiness she spreads around. Laura really is what this torch relay should be celebrating.
