From May-July 2008 Laura took part in a TV show aired on Living TV called "Diet on the Dance Floor"? it was a program aimed at getting people fit through dance (it had a Strictly Come Dancing format, and contestants were partners with professional dancers & learnt a different genre each week for 8 weeks). Laura came 2nd & was the final girl. And it inspired her and some friends to take up dancing to keep fit.
In September 2010, Laura climbed Kilimanjaro (Tanzania highest Mountain, and the World Highest Free Standing Mountain) in aid of Cancer research. She raised a total of £2,265 (with a gift aid of £334.23) ? and of course reached the top!
In true Laura style, next year she is planning on doing Everest Base Camp. She truly is an inspiration to all around her.
