Lana-emily's nomination story

Lana-Emily has always been a happy, bright person. She tries to excel at sport, and always supports and encourages other people to try their best. She has had major achievement in County Gymnastics, National Triathlon, and has now started competing in Pole Vaulting, Javelin, and plays in a League Netball Team. Last year Lana had to have major heart surgery when it was discovered that she had had a hole in her heart since birth. Although Lana has never been an ill child she was scared, but would not let anyone know for fear of worrying them. She kept cheerful throughout, and has since been raising money for The Evelina Childrens Heart Organisation, where she had her treatment. Lana's attitude to life is amazing - 'if that is what it is, that is what I will work with!' She is always willing to encourage others in anyway she can for them to reach their best. Lana enjoys playing in her Netball Team, and Ashford Athletics Club and will always support her team members. Whilst never wanting to be a loser, in anything she does in life, Lana uses it as a way to improve herself, and her situation. Lana is known to be a person that can be relied on, in good times and in bad, by young and by old, and in a way that is comfortable to all involved. If picked as a Torch-Bearer Lana would be supported by a huge amount of people - her family, school friends, her Athletics and Netball Clubs, supporters of ECHO and all friends and neighbours that she helps, and who love her. Many Thanks.
