Kyle has become an ambassador for sport in Argyll and was recently awarded Sportsman of the Year. In less than 4 years of taking up archery he achieved Commonwealth games level and went to compete with team Scotland in Delhi 2010. His determination and self sacrifice were what spurred him on. In spite of the the great disappointment that his discipline (compound bow) is not included in the London Olympics or the Glasgow Commonwealth Games he has not allowed this to stand in his way. In his own time and without a fee he now coaches others, visits schools and gives demonstrations. He can not afford to go on to compete in World Championships and when it was suggested that he could make money from coaching he simply replied 'I would rather help people who can't afford it'.It is also very noticable that the torch route bypasses most of the West Highlands of Scotland which is another reason why it would be great to have someone to represent our corner of the country and Kyle with his unassuming and dedicated nature would fit the bill.
