In January this year, i was diagnosed with Osgood Schlatter disease. Suffering with pain in my knees and excessive growth on both knees, made me feel a little discouraged and gave me lack of confidence to run the way i would normally run and made me not want to participate in school athletics. Although, i came 2nd in my school year in athletics, i felt that i would not be able to perform as well as i was used to. With great mentoring from my school, doctor and parents, i returned after the summer break feeling confident and willing to participate in athletics, Rugby and Karate in hope that i will overcome this disease and out grow the symptoms in the near future. To run with the Olympic torch will be an amazing experience. .
