Kwesi's nomination story

Kwesi James is a 12 year old student at Charter Academy in Portsmouth.. He's a real all rounder, academically able, a keen athlete (Athletics, football, table tennis and rugby) and a great musician (saxophone, guitar and flute).. Kwesi has perfect manners and gets on well with everyone. He can be relied upon to look after new students or anyone who's feeling a bit low.. His ambition is to beat Eugene Bolt's 100 metre record.. His hero is his dad - who held an army high jumping record.. When he was told that he'd been nominated to carry the Olympic torch, he was open mouthed and speechless. . Eventually he said that it would be the best thing that had ever happened to him.. Kwesi personifies the Olympic Values of friendship, excellence and respect and is a shining example of what we all want British youth to be..
