Kay's nomination story

Kirsty suffers from Neurofibromatosis (NF) a lifelong condition that causes tumours to grow on the nerve endings. Kirsty has at least one tumour on every nerve on her spine, and tumours on most of her major nerves. Kirsty had a wish granted to visit Santa in Lapland due how well she copes with her NF. She had such a magical time that she wanted to make sure other poorly children had their wish to visit Santa and raised over £85k for the charity 'When You Wish Upon a Star', and sent 100 poorly children to visit Santa. Kirsty has also written a book about living with NF that she had published. The book is on sale globally. Money raised from the book is going towards her next target (85k) to send 40 poorly children and their families on a much needed holiday to Centre Parcs for five days. Kirsty runs a website (kirstysstory.co.uk) and helps people around the globe who suffer from NF.
