Kirstie's nomination story

Kirtsy shows excellence as an elite athlete and a representative swimmer for Ulster. However this is not why we as a School wish to nominate her for the chance to carry the torch. She has volunteered to complete the UK Sports Leaders Award and through this has become a Young Ambassador for our School. She leads by example, always on the ball and keen to send the Olympic message and values thorugh to our pupils and staff. To do this she has stood in front of assemblies of her peers , younger pupils and staff and has shown great courage to do so. She has made requests from the Headmaster determined to further this cause. Organising fun friendly sports tournamnets with her staff consisting of her fellow sports leaders. Indeed the rain today ensured she has to re plan her schedule 10 minutes before it began. - she did so with ease and respect for the participants and staff. We want someone inspirational and passionate to be our torch bearer for the Olympics and we could not think of anyone better to fulfil this role.
