Kimmy's nomination story

My name is Hannah Gill and I work with Kimmy Spence at UPS Gatwick and a number of us feel she would be a worthy ambassador to be one of the Olympic Torch Bearers.

Although Kimmy herself is disabled, she still finds time to help a lot of people out in various ways. Whether it is a neighbour, family member or co-worker, Kim will go the extra mile to provide care and assistance.

I can speak from my own personal experience, when my partner tragically passed away. She helped me through this difficult time emotionally and also raised money for beautiful flowers at his funeral.

Kimmy is always very generous and is always the one at UPS Gatwick to start a collection whether it's for charity or for colleagues' needs. She will always bring in cakes and treats and has done so also to raise money for charity.

Kimmy has been part of fund raising in one way or another since I have known her (which is almost 5 years now!) She's also told me many stories of the volunteer work she has done in the past. She used to help out at the Mid-Sussex Body Positive - assisting people with HIV and AIDS, and helping them through their emotional journey. She only stopped working here, as the government was unable to fund the program anymore.

I hope you will consider Kimmy for this honor. I sincerely feel she deserves this recognition.
