Kieran's nomination story

I wish to nominate my son Kieran. He is 16 years old and has a learning Disability. He also has mild ADHD. He attends Hilltop School (SEN). He is in year 11 but is returning to Hilltop 6th Form. He is very keen on sport especially athletics. He has been Hilltops Sports Captain for the last year. A Young Sports Leader and Sports Ambassador for the last two years. He orginises many sporting events both in and out of school. Two years ago Kieran did the Junior Great North Run raising money for the Children Say charity. Last year he encouraged three pupils from Hilltop school to do the run with him to raise funds for the school. This year will be Kierans last Junior run and has been asked by many pupils if they could do the run with him. Although Kieran has a diability, he is a very determand young man and takes great pride in all he achieves. He is an isperation to his peers and is very good at motivateing pupils less fortunate than him self. Last year one of pupils grandparents told me if it hadn't been for Kieran, his grandaughter would not have entered the run, he also told me that she doesn't like to walk any where, never mind run. To see the pride on that grandparents face when she crossed the line was out of this world. It shows what Kieran has acheived both in and out of School, I feel that an opportunity like this could only help his self confidence and inspire him to go further.
